Happy Independence Day 2018!
It wouldn’t be summer without Blaine’s 4th of July Celebration! The annual tradition has long been Blaine’s heart-and-soul, and near Blaine’s heart-and-soul is exactly where we want to be! Blaine Community Theater will be on-hand for the Downtown Street Fair from 10 AM to 5 PM. We’ll be there to talk about what the theater is planning for the coming year, answer questions, and take suggestions on what the community wants from its community theater.
We’ll also be doing a couple of fundraisers in the street fair. In addition to taking donations, we’ll be offering reusable (American-made!) shopping bags emblazoned with the brand new Blaine Community Theater logo for any donation over 5 dollars. We’ll also be doing regular “water balloon shows” throughout the day. In the “water balloon show”, actors will be performing a short scene from Shakespeare’s A Mid-summer Night’s Dream. We’ll have water balloons available to the audience (25-cents each or 5-for-a-dollar), and the audience is encouraged to bombard the actors with a balloon at any time in the show! If you’re ever seen a play and felt the urge to immediately express your distaste, this is the event for you!
Blaine Community Theater will also be taking part in the 4th of July Parade, beginning at noon, so be sure to head over to Peace Portal Drive and cheer us on!
