AUDITIONS FOR ALAN AYCKBOURN’S “THE NORMAN CONQUESTS”
We are glad to announce that Blaine Community Theater will be having auditions for Alan Ayckbourn’s trio of plays Table Manners, Living Together, and Round and Round the Garden, known collectively as “The Norman Conquests”. The plays focus on three siblings and their significant others, grudgingly thrown together in the family home for a weekend, with each play exploring the happenings of a different room of the house during that time.
The auditions will be held on Sunday, April 21 and Monday, April 22 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in the Dance Hall at Camp Horizon (7506 Gemini St, Blaine, WA 98230).
We are looking for 3 men and 3 women, from late teens to late fifties. All six cast members will be playing their character in all three productions, so we are looking for actors up for a real challenge in learning three plays at the same time (think repertory theater, only with bigger roles and you get to use the same character). The stories heavily revolve around romance and marital fidelity, so the ability to become comfortable with onstage affection and adult situations will be required. Rehearsals are to start the week after auditions, and the performances are being scheduled for late July through early August.
